The Black Pony was a German pop‑rock group formed in Los Angeles in 2010, comprising Trevor Brown, Eugen Flittner, Kevin Dollerschell and Michael Johnson. The ensemble emerged from a Los Angeles pop camp where Trevor Brown met Ryan Belitsky, and later connected with Eugen Flittner, a former contestant on Deutschland sucht den Superstar. Their debut single, "Boys Are Crazy", released on 3 December 2010, entered the German singles chart at number 69, followed by "Scars and Bruises" at number 72 on 25 February 2011. The band’s first studio album, Launched in the Pool, was issued on 18 March 2011 and peaked at number 47 on the German albums chart; it featured contributions from Lukas Hilbert, Matthew Gerrard, Alexander Kronlund and Charlie Midnight, and included a cover of Phantom Planet’s "California". A German tour commenced the same day, and the group appeared in several television programs. In 2011 the single "Perfect Night" reached number 77 on the German chart. Their second studio album, Take Off, was released in March 2012, following a brief tour from 13 October 2011 to 22 January 2012. After a final appearance at the TAKKO‑Fashion‑Gig, the members pursued separate paths by late 2012, marking the end of The Black Pony.
