Karen Sharp, born September 30, 1971 in Ipswich, United Kingdom, is a British jazz musician. She began playing saxophone during her composition studies at the Royal Northern College of Music after hearing a recording by Dexter Gordon. Initially performing with college bands, she moved to London in 1999 and collaborated with notable musicians like Scott Hamilton and John Dankworth. In 2004, Sharp joined Humphrey Lyttelton’s octet for three years. She has released several albums under her own name, including Till There Was You (2003), So Far So Good (2004), and The Sun, The Moon and You (2018).
