Akiko Ebi, born July 7, 1953, in Osaka, Japan, is a French pianist known for her classical music performances. She studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and won the piano prize at the 41st Music Competition of Japan. Her international career began after securing second place at the Long Thibaud Crespin Competition in Paris in 1975. Ebi continued her studies with Aldo Ciccolini at the Paris Conservatory and received the fifth prize at the Frédéric Chopin International Piano Competition in 1980, where Martha Argerich became her mentor. She further honed her skills under Vlado Perlemuter and Louis Kentner. Ebi's career includes global concerts, annual tours in Japan, and performances at festivals such as La Roque-d'Anthéron Festival and La Folle Journée. Notable recordings include works by Chopin, Brahms, Liszt, and Franck.
