奥慶一 (Keiichi Oku), born on October 14, 1955, in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, is a keyboardist, composer, and arranger. He graduated from the music composition program at the Tokyo University of the Arts but left the master's program early. In August 1979, Oku debuted as a member of the rock band, Spectrum. After Spectrum disbanded in 1981, he began working as a studio musician and released his solo debut album, Misty Morning. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he composed and arranged music for numerous artists and anime series, including Higashi Chūgaku 3-nen 5-gumi (1984), Kinjirareta Mariko (1985-1986), Marmalade Boy (1994-1995), and contributed to video games, such as Arc the Lad (1995). In May 2009, he received the JASRAC International Award for his work on the anime series, Ashita no Nadja. Oku has also contributed to various films, including "Digimon Savers the Movie: Ultimate Power! Activate Burst Mode!!" (2006).
