Karl Neukauf, born in 1982 in Kassel, Germany, is a German musician and songwriter. He is a multi-instrumentalist, performing on guitar, drums, bass, and sitar, in addition to singing. His self-titled debut album, Karl Neukauf, was released in 2010. In 2012, he released Blaue Erbsen (Blue Peas), which includes the song "Anders als die Andern" ("Different from the Others"). Over the course of his career, Neukauf has collaborated with artists including Hansa Czypionka and Dirk Michaelis. He has also composed music for theatre and film productions, including Schneeflöckchen (Little Snowflake) and Ilse. In 2013, he co-founded the Chansonfestival Bad Gastein. His album Karleidoskop, released in 2025, was awarded the German Record Critics’ Award. Neukauf performs with his ensemble Karl Neukauf & Kolleg:innen and has resided in Berlin.
