Emma's Imagination, whose real name is Emma Gillespie, is a Scottish folk singer born in Edinburgh on July 13, 1983. She grew up in Dumfries and traveled extensively in her youth, between the Indian Ocean, Australia, New Zealand and Thailand, before devoting herself to music. In 2009, she released her first single , "Stamp Your Feet", on the independent Up Next Records label, and went on to audition for Must Be the Music, where she won the Audience Award. Released immediately afterwards, the single "This Day" was a huge success, reaching number 10 in the UK charts even before she won the show. Following the release of the No. 7 single "Focus" came the album Stand Still (2011), which reached No. 14. Following the closure of Gary Barlow's Future Records label, Emma's Imagination continues to perform as an independent artist, recording the six-track EP Underway, produced by Youth and released in 2013. She followed this up with the album Pier Siamese in 2016 and appeared on the youth show Hushabye Lullabies in 2020.
