Los YellowJackets de la Universidad de Rochester, un grupo colegial a cappella exclusivamente masculino, fueron fundados en 1956 por el Dr. Ward Woodbury Jr., Director de Música del River Campus de la Universidad, como un subconjunto del Men's Glee Club. El grupo comenzó a actuar en actos del campus y, en 1981, pasó gradualmente de las melodías acompañadas por piano a la música a capella. Obtuvieron reconocimiento nacional con su aparición en la tercera temporada de The Sing-Off de la NBC en 2011, quedando en séptimo lugar.
