Nacida en Cardiff el 15 de septiembre de 1975, Amanda Whiting es una arpista galesa especializada en jazz, conocida por su estilo distintivo que mezcla tradición clásica, influencias modales y groove contemporáneo. Formada en el Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, comenzó su carrera en el campo clásico antes de decantarse por el jazz, atraída por la libertad de improvisación y la expresividad del género. Se sintió especialmente influida por Dorothy Ashby y Alice Coltrane, dos figuras pioneras del arpa jazzística, a las que rinde homenaje a menudo en sus composiciones. Ha publicado varios álbumes con Jazzman Records, aclamados por su delicadeza armónica y su atmósfera envolvente, entre ellos After Dark (2021), Lost in Abstraction (2022) y The Liminality of Her (2023).
