Heliopause formed in South London in 2001 and wrote increasingly adventurous music until their eventual split 4 years later. Unsatisfied with conventional song-writing and bored of 4/4, Heliopause's music takes the listener on an uncompromising auditory adventure of epic proportions. Always expressive, experimental and full of unexpected twists and turns - this is not music for dancing. Heliopause are passionate about prog, taking inspiration from genre giants such as Dream Theatre, Tool, King Crimson and Pink Floyd, blending it all into a delicious prog-chowder.
Heliopause were lucky to count a long list of talented musicians as alumni of the band during their run. We are immensely grateful to all of them for being part of our musical journey, helping us learn to prog harder, and riff wonkier.
The final line-up reunited in 2013 yielding the Tesla's Pigeon EP, which was remastered and re-released in 2024.
