Rapsody es un grupo musical alemán formado en 1997 por los productores alemanes Dieter, Klaus y Achim Volker, también conocidos como los hermanos Volker. El grupo saltó a la fama con su álbum de debut Overture: Hip Hop Meets Classic, publicado el 9 de enero de 1998 por Mercury Records y distribuido por Def Jam Recordings. Este álbum conceptual mezclaba hip hop y música clásica, con colaboraciones entre raperos estadounidenses y cantantes de ópera europeos. Uno de los temas más destacados de este álbum fue "Prince Igor", un dúo entre Warren G y la cantante soprano noruega Sissel que alcanzó el número 1 en toda Europa en 1998. Sissel cantaba un aria de la ópera de Alexander Borodin, El Príncipe Igor, en el estribillo, mientras Warren G se encargaba de las estrofas de rap. Otro tema notable fue "E Lucean Le Stelle" de Xzibit, que sampleaba E Lucevan Le Stelle de Giacomo Puccini. Tras el lanzamiento de Overture: Hip Hop Meets Classic, The Rapsody publicó un segundo álbum titulado Hip Hop Meets World el 14 de marzo de 2000. A pesar de su breve carrera, The Rapsody dejó un impacto duradero en la industria musical, allanando el camino para futuras colaboraciones entre artistas de hip hop y músicos clásicos.
