La música de este grupo de Brooklyn se sitúa en la encrucijada del grime (género importado de Londres que combina hip-hop, drum'n'bass y punk) y el electro. Tras la muerte de su vocalista en 2002, Gang Gang Dance publicó Revival of the Shittest en 2004, seguido del álbum Saint Dymphna en 2008, su primer verdadero éxito internacional. Conquistaron oficialmente Inglaterra y Europa al fichar por 4AD, donde se publicó su álbum Eye Contact en 2011.
