The Detergents es un grupo musical estadounidense especializado en canciones de parodia, formado por Ronnie Dante, Danny Jordan y Tommy Wynn. El trío comenzó su carrera como guionistas y cantantes de sesión para Aldon Music antes de que Paul Vance se pusiera en contacto con ellos para grabar "Leader of the Laundromat" en 1964. Esta canción, una parodia de "Leader of the Pack" de los Shangri-Las, se convirtió en uno de los 20 primeros éxitos de la lista Billboard Hot 100 en enero de 1965, alcanzando el número 19. El éxito de esta canción les llevó a aparecer en varias listas de éxitos. El éxito de este sencillo les llevó a aparecer en programas de televisión como Shindig! y Hullabaloo, así como a realizar giras con Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars. El grupo lanzó su segunda y última aparición en el Billboard Hot 100 con "Double-O-Seven" en la primavera de 1965, que alcanzó el número 89. También grabaron una parodia del éxito de las Shangri-Las "I Can Never Go Home Anymore", titulada "I Can Never Eat Home Anymore". La banda estuvo en activo hasta 1966. Danny Jordan murió en diciembre de 2024.
