Daddy DJ es un proyecto dance francés fundado en Francia en 1999. Detrás de este nombre están los productores David Le Roy, Jean-Christophe Belval y Stéphane Deschamps, que trabajan en el campo del eurodance y la música pop electrónica. El proyecto surgió a finales de los 90 en la escena de club francesa y se dirigía a un público joven con melodías pegadizas y voces infantiles. En 2000 lanzaron el sencillo "Daddy DJ", que entró en las listas de éxitos de toda Europa y alcanzó posiciones altas en Francia y Alemania, entre otros países. La canción se convirtió en un éxito definitorio del proyecto y posteriormente fue versionada y remezclada en numerosas ocasiones. En 2001, se publica el álbum debut Daddy DJ (2001), que contiene la canción que da título al disco, así como otros sencillos como "The Girl in Red" (2000) y "Over You" (2001). En los años siguientes, el proyecto lanzó otras versiones y adaptaciones internacionales del éxito, incluida una serie de dibujos animados vagamente basada en la canción.
