René Pawlowitz, nacido en 1975 en Fráncfort del Óder (Alemania), es un músico y DJ de tecno conocido profesionalmente como Shed. Descubrió la música electrónica a principios de la década de 1990, pasando del rave y el hardcore británico al house de Chicago y el techno de Detroit. En 2003, Pawlowitz fundó Soloaction Records y publicó su primer EP Red Planet Express bajo el seudónimo de Shed. Su primer álbum, Shedding The Past, se publicó en 2008 en Ostgut Ton y ocupó el segundo puesto en la encuesta de los lectores de De:Bug al mejor álbum del año. Entre sus álbumes posteriores figuran The Traveller (2010) y The Killer (2012). Pawlowitz también ha colaborado con Modeselektor y Marcel Dettmann bajo el nombre de ATOL.
