United Future Organization

Formado en 1990 durante la ola del acid jazz, el trío United Future Organization reunía a los dos DJ japoneses Tadashi Yabe y Toshio Matsuura, y a su homólogo francés de origen marroquí Raphael Sebbag. Tras Jazzin' (1992), una recopilación de los primeros temas, el primer álbum, publicado en 1993 en los sellos Bronswood Recordings y Talkin' Loud de Gilles Peterson, mostraba la mezcla de jazz, trip-hop y rap que estaba de moda en aquella época. Fue un éxito inmediato, y UFO pasó a convertirse en uno de los nombres más importantes del género, como demuestra su participación en la recopilación benéfica Stolen Moments: Red Hot + Cool (1994), parte de la serie iniciada por la organización Red Hot, cuya canción dio título al álbum. United Future Organization siguió con los aclamados álbumes No Sound Is Too Taboo (1994), 3rd Perspective (1996) y Bon Voyage (1999), seguido de su homólogo electro Bon Voyage - Les Remixes (1999). Tras la publicación de V (2001) en el sello londinense Exceptional, con colaboraciones de Mark Murphy, Jeffery Smith, Valerie Etienne y Sabrina Malheiros, la marcha de Toshio Matsuura en 2002 supuso el fin de la banda y el cese de sus actividades. El 25 de julio de 2024, Tadashi Yabe falleció a la edad de 59 años.
