No hay estilo que se resista al sentido del ridículo y a la maestría musical integral del pianista neoyorquino Scott Bradlee (nacido en Long Island, Nueva York, en 1981). Tras sentar las bases de su arte -la versión anacrónica y desfasada- bajo su propio nombre, con un álbum entero de relecturas de canciones de Nickelback, A Motown Tribute to Nickelback (2013), y acumular millones de visitas en su canal de YouTube, reunió ese mismo año a un colectivo de músicos de geometría variable: Postmodern Jukebox. Con ellos, toma éxitos del pop internacional como "We Can't Stop" de Miley Cyrus, "Thrift Shop " de Macklemore y "Die Young " de Ke$ha y los sitúa en un contexto anacrónico: doo-wop de los años 50, swing jazz de los 30 y rhythm'n'blues de los 60. Los nombres de los álbumes de la banda resumen con picardía este original concepto, enfrentando épocas en alegres oxímoron: Clubbin' With Grandpa (2014), Twist Is the New Twerk (2014), Selfies On Kodachrome (2015).
