La banda electrónica inglesa Beak> fue formada en 2009 por el teclista de Portishead Geoff Barrow. También participan en el proyecto el bajista Billy Fuller, más conocido por su trabajo con Robert Plant, y Will Young, productor afincado en Londres que normalmente graba bajo el nombre de Moon Gangs.

El álbum de debut de la banda, que lleva su propio título, se publicó en 2009 y consiste en una serie de canciones escritas y grabadas durante un intenso periodo de 12 días sin ningún tipo de sobregrabación o reelaboración. El resultado fue un álbum inusual que define el enfoque poco convencional de Barrow a la hora de grabar música. Beak> también actuó como productor en el álbum de debut de Anika.
