The project began in Belgium in 1982 under the name “Signal.” It was an industrial noise band. It became Signal Aout 42 in 1984. Signal Aout 42 is also known as “SA42.” In 1985, Jacky composed the band's first two “real songs” and released their first maxi single: Pleasure and Crime. The maxi quickly became a hit in underground clubs! Jacky Meurisse was the mastermind of the band , and the Vandamme brothers (school friends) contributed to constructive ideas and provided support during concerts. The successes continued until 1995, when jacky decided to take a break to focus himself to his family life. 1995 was also the year when the brand new German label "Out of Line Music" decided to release the compilation SA42 Immortal Collection... the label's first album, which has now become a heavyweight in the underground music ! In 2007, Jacky returned to composing and has been releasing albums every three years, still under the Out of Line label. During this four decades, Jacky has remained true to his values and has established Signal Aout 42 as a must-have in the EBM and New Beat styles.
