Conocidos originalmente como The Queerboys, la banda de Spike Gray se dedicaba a la juerga y al blues rock con el espíritu y la fanfarronería de grupos como The Faces y Led Zeppelin, y vivían según el mantra "Somos The Quireboys... y esto es rock'n'roll". Dirigidos por Sharon Osbourne, los conciertos en el club The Marquee no tardaron en labrarse una reputación cada vez mayor y su álbum de debut A Bit of What You Fancy (1990) alcanzó el número 2 en las listas británicas, con el sencillo Hey You convirtiéndose en un pequeño éxito. Fueron teloneros de The Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses y David Bowie, pero el lanzamiento de su segundo álbum Bitter Sweet & Twisted (1993) coincidió con el auge del movimiento grunge e hizo que el grupo pareciera anticuado. A pesar de separarse en 1993, se volvieron a unir definitivamente en 2001 y siguen tocando para un público entregado en toda Europa, celebrando el 20 aniversario de A Bit Of What You Fancy con la reedición del álbum clásico.
