The Latin Project está formado por los DJ británicos Jez Colin y Matt Cooper, que empezaron a colaborar a principios de la década de 2000. Su primer single destacado, "En Fuego", apareció en 2001 y sentó las bases de una carrera que mezclaba ritmos electrónicos con ritmos latinos. En 2004 publicaron "Lei Lo Lai" (con Freddie Crespo), que alcanzó el número uno en la lista Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play y les valió una nominación al Grammy a la mejor grabación dance ese mismo año. Su éxito en las listas y su nominación a los Grammy consolidaron la contribución de The Latin Project a la música de baile electrónica y de influencia latina.
