Gabriel "Gabzy" Akinyemi, nacido en Londres el 22 de enero de 1996 en el seno de una familia nigeriana, es un cantante y compositor que ha establecido su propio estilo en la encrucijada del afrobeats, el R&B, el soul y la afrofusión. Descubrió su pasión por la música a una edad temprana (cantaba en el coro de su colegio desde los 9 años) y empezó a escribir sus propias canciones a los 14, inspirándose en géneros tan variados como el reggae, el hip-hop y los ritmos africanos. Saltó a la fama en 2016 con el EP Summers, producido con el productor estadounidense Melvitto, que escaló posiciones en las listas de Afrobeats del Reino Unido y acumuló más de cien millones de escuchas. Gabzy siguió con el EP Malone (2020), al que siguió At the End of the Night (2022). Agotó las entradas de varias salas londinenses antes de volver con los singles "Jambazz" (puesto 18 en las listas Afrobeats en 2023), "Too Fine" y "Round 1" en 2024. En 2025, lanzó el exitoso sencillo "Too Much Sense", a dúo con Fireboy DML, que alcanzó el número 15 en las listas Afrobeats del Reino Unido y el número 42 en Estados Unidos.
