Fue en plena moda del acid house londinense cuando Tim Simenon, un joven DJ anónimo nacido en 1968, produjo un EP de club llamado "Beat Dis" bajo el nombre de Bomb The Bass, un collage rítmico de samples tomados de telenovelas, películas y programas de radio. El sencillo alcanzó el nº 2 en las listas y lanzó la carrera de Tim. También trabajó como productor (para Neneh Cherry) y remezclador (para Björk y Massive Attack). "Clear", de 1995, se centraba más en la atmósfera que en el ritmo.
