New “Kinship” album out October 25th via Metal Blade Records
IOTUNN formed in 2015 and is a metal band from the Northern European countries of Denmark and The Faroe Islands. The sound of IOTUNN is inspired by the Cosmos, nature, mythology, history, and life itself in all its multiple aspects. It is within the scope of dualities that IOTUNN´s sound is created. Atmospheric and heavy. Technical and yet simple. Extreme and melodic. Layered and yet with a focused touch giving a simplicity for the ears to catch. All this leads to the soundscapes of IOTUNN rounded off with the voice of Jón Aldará.
In 2020 IOTUNN signed with Metal Blade Records with whom they released their internationally acclaimed debut album, Access All Worlds in 2021. In the beginning of 2022, to mark the 1-year day for “Access All Worlds“, IOTUNN made an acoustic medley of the album which spans over 16-minutes. This release, “Access All Worlds – An Acoustic Voyage” – enhanced the classical origin of the Gräs brothers’ musicianship and showed a new perspective of the Access All Worlds arrangements. In 2023 IOTUNN decided to finish the song Mistland which was released on June 30th.
IOTUNN entered the live stage and has since then played shows at e.g., ProgPower (NL), Brainstorm Festival (NL), G! Festival (FO), Karmøygeddon (NO) Copenhell (DK), Summer Breeze (DE), Midgardsblot (NO) and 70.000Tons of Metal (US).
IOTUNN just released their first two singles “I Feel the Night” and “Twilight” from their upcoming album “Kinship”. “Kinship” will be released on October 25th.
