Real name Duncan Hutchinson, DJ Trace is a British drum'n'bass DJ and producer. One of the pioneers of the techstep style combining techno and dubstep, he frequented the London rave scene and in 1995 released The Mutant Remix, a reworking of T Power's "Mutant Jazz", considered the founding track of the techstep style, between numerous singles including "Coffee" (1994) and "Miles High" (1996). He collaborated with Ed Rush, Nico and Fierce on the album Torque (1997) and Nico's label, No U-Turn, before creating two structures, DSCI4 and 177 Records, under which his numerous titles were released. In 2021, he released his first solo album Retox, followed by a remix EP and the Raptor EP in 2024.
