Born as Karl Hans Joseph in Carrefour, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, this artist's journey through life and music has been a unique and inspiring one. His early academic pursuits led him to the UCC University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, where he initially embarked on a path towards an associate degree in management information systems at the Kingston campus in Jamaica. However, driven by a burning passion for music and self-expression, he made the courageous decision to drop out of his studies and chase after his dream of becoming a self-taught producer and a skilled lyricist.
As his musical journey unfolded, he crossed paths with Balance & Biggs while concurrently working for a tech giant. These encounters proved to be significant stepping stones in his artistic career. Fueled by a desire to create his own unique sound, he delved into the world of music production and lyrical composition. This led him to the creation of his debut album, "Above the LAW," a project that defied conventional norms not only in its music but also in its creative process.
The summer of 2020 marked the debut of "Above the LAW," a landmark achievement for the artist. Released under his own record label, La Cour Des Treize, which he co-founded alongside his childhood friend Wisler (MAL) Pierre Louis, also known as Tony A tout Prix from the acclaimed Haitian hood movie "A tout Prix," the album showcased the artist's multifaceted talent. The album shattered barriers and transcended traditional artistic boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.
The influence of "Above the LAW" extended beyond its groundbreaking sound. The artist's record label, La Cour Des Treize, went on to become a powerhouse in promoting and distributing music globally, catering to both underground and mainstream artists. Names like Meza45, Next, Kafou City, Junior Mix, Dobel, Fighter, Khenyo bj, and more found a platform through this label, further enriching the artistic landscape.
One of the standout moments in the artist's career was the release of the label's cypher, the LC13 Cypher, a collaboration that featured several active members of La Cour Des Treize. This project garnered immense popularity, with tracks like "Pote W ale avek Meza45" finding a place on the Spotify Haiti playlist "Hits Rap Kreyol" during the 2021 vacation season.
