MJ Wemoto is a son of Zimbabwe. Born in the City of Kings, Bulawayo, and raised in Gweru, I have always had something for music. The art you find on this page is the manifestation of destiny. My first release as MJ Wemoto was the Amapiano track Boss Ya Mboka (Willard Katsande) produced by Progisthename which really surprised me when it took off on Twitter in June 2020. We recorded it for fun, however, it kind of went viral with over 20,000 views on the platform. This isn't really what motivated me to continue the musical path though, it's something I have done before and this time I wanted to do it right. My style is one I describe as "Gango" which loosely means "a mixture". From Afrobeats to Amapiano then Hip Hop... I dabble in a bit of everything to give an eclectic blend rooted in vibes from the Motherland. My music will mix in a few languages, particularly Shona, Ndebele and English.
