Distruction Boyz, a South African musical duo consisting of Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi and Zipho “Goldmax” Mthembu, hail from Durban. The pair began their journey in the music industry by performing at local taverns and shisa nyama's in KwaMashu, where they honed their skills in gqom and house music. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Omunye" (2017), featuring Benny Maverick & Dladla Mshunqisi, which was certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa. In October 2017, Distruction Boyz released their debut album Gqom is the Future, which also achieved gold certification. Their second album, It Was All a Dream (2018), followed in October 2018. They were nominated for Favourite Music Artist/Group at the 2018 Dstv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards. In 2023, Distruction Boyz announced a temporary split to focus on their solo careers.
