Calum Scott, born in Kingston-Upon-Hull, northern England, on October 12, 1988, came to prominence on the TV talent show Britain's Got Talent in 2015. But it was with his self-produced single "Dancing on My Own ", which he recorded and released shortly afterwards, in March 2016, that the singer realized his artistic potential. The song is a huge success, not least thanks to viral support on social networks, and reaches No. 2 in the UK. No fewer than 34 countries also included it in their best-selling singles charts, including six where it reached No. 1 (No. 15 in the United States). Although he admits he was "surprised by the song's impact", the English singer decided to take the next step, which was to record his debut album. Entitled Only Human, it was released in March 2018, with the duet "You Are the Reason" with Leona Lewis (No. 43) as the title track. Following the release of the single "Undo " with Naughty Boy and Shenseea in 2019, the singer and multi-instrumentalist collaborated with Lost Frequencies on the track "Where Are You Now" in 2021, and worked in parallel on his second album Bridges, released in June 2022. Rated No. 48 in the UK, it includes the duet "Run with Me" with Anny Ogrezeanu and "Heaven", recorded in several versions with different artists including Lyodra and Diana Danielle. The same year saw the release of "Woke Up in Love" with Kygo and Gryffin. In 2023, "At Your Worst" is performed solo and with Zoe Wees, followed in 2024 by "Always" with Armaan Malik, "Then There Was You" for The Garfield Movie soundtrack, "Kid at Christmas" with Christina Perri and the Supertramp cover, "Give a Little Bit", with Leona Lewis. The third Avenoir album, released in October 2025, features Lauren Alaina on "One More Drink" and a virtual duet with Whitney Houston on "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)".
