Christian David Mejía Valencia, known artistically as Chris DLB or “Carnaval”, is a singer, rapper and composer, born in Cali, Colombia.
Chris was interested in music from an early age, influenced by his mother who is a dance teacher and director of a foundation that serves young people and children in the community. Over the years, Chris began to write and take his first steps. in the urban music scene. Around 2019, he began organizing events with his entire DLB crew (the good ones), and they became known in a short time.
The source of inspiration for Chris' lyrics comes from the experiences of his childhood and adolescence and how he moved forward despite the marginal situation in which he lived.
Chris's creativity has made him an influence for many young people who have identified with the lyrics of his songs since they are not pure street trap, but have managed to reflect the B side of a martyred and marginalized society. His lyrics deal with social issues of neighborhood people.
Your influences? Many and very varied and all of them appear in a characteristic and peculiar style. This is 2pac, Michael Jackson, Willie Colón, American underground classics like Wu-Tang Clan and also Terra Samba, one of the most popular musical groups in Brazil.
Music became something very important to him. Something that, he confesses, has helped him move forward when he was surrounded by crime.
