Born of Guyanese, Brasilian and Surinamese ancestry, and growing up in the UK and then later living in Portugal, Anansi has a life long dream to bring his version of the Latin America sound to the masses. Starting with Sergio Mendes, Jorge Ben and Eddy Grant as a child, he was quickly influenced by the UK and American Underground sounds, growing to love and participate in Hip Hop, Grime and House. Anansi combines his upbringing in the the west with his ancestry from the south, creating a fusion of South American and UK sounds.
