Yasunori Imamura, born on October 19, 1953, is a prominent Japanese lute player from Sakai, Osaka. He studied at the Schola Cantorum of Basel, graduating as a soloist in 1981. Imamura's career began with his debut album John Dowland, Lute Songs in 1985. He has released notable albums including Lute Songs (1985) and J.S. Bach: Lute Music Volume 1 (1990). Imamura has collaborated with ensembles such as Les Musiciens du Louvre and artists like Cecilia Bartoli and Joyce DiDonato. He also founded the ensemble Fons Musicae in 1997, which has produced several recordings. Imamura has also been a professor at the Strasbourg Conservatory and the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. His achievements include the Classica Prize (1998), Sterne des Monax from Phono Form Prize (2002), and Diapason d'Or (2006).
