Martin Haselböck is an Austrian conductor and organist born on November 23, 1954, in Vienna. He studied at the Vienna Music Academy and in Paris before beginning an international concert career as an organist in 1970. He served as the organist and music director of the Wiener Augustinerkirche from 1976 to 1992 and was the court organist for the Wiener Hofmusikkapelle between 1978 and 2019. In 1985, Haselböck founded the Orchester Wiener Akademie, an ensemble focused on historical performance practice. He expanded his leadership roles in 2004 by becoming the musical director of Musica Angelica in California. Since 2003, he has served as a professor of organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. His discography includes the 2009 release Hugo Distler: Cembalo-Konzerte and the 2018 project Resound Beethoven. Haselböck has received various honors, including the Diapason d'or and the 2010 Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. In 2021, he was awarded the Franz Liszt Honorary Prize in Weimar.
