GEM, a Japanese idol group formed in November 2012, was composed of members each affiliated with a precious stone. The group debuted with their first single "We're GEM!" on January 1, 2014, marking the beginning of their career in the competitive J-pop scene. Throughout their career, GEM released several notable singles, including "Star Shine Story" (2014), which highlighted the group's ability to blend catchy melodies with relatable lyrics. The single "Baby, Love me!" was released on September 30, 2015. and became a fan favorite due to its energetic rhythm and memorable chorus. Another standout release was the single "Fine! ~fly for the future~" (2016), which featured a more mature sound and demonstrated GEM's growth as artists. The group's final album Girls Entertainment Mixture was released on March 29, 2016. This album encapsulated their journey and evolution in the music industry, featuring a diverse range of tracks that showcased both their individual talents and collective harmony. GEM disbanded on March 31, 2018, following the departure of member Takeda Maaya who left to study in Los Angeles and did not return to the group.
