Blandine Waldmann is a French pianist whose artistry thrives on exploring the profound emotional and harmonic dimensions of piano repertoire. Educated in the cosmopolitan city of Brussels, she honed her craft at the Royal Conservatories under the guidance of Alexander Madzar and Daniel Blumenthal, earning master’s degrees in piano and chamber music with highest honours. Her lyrical phrasing, shaped by her early violin studies, and her innate appreciation for polyphony demonstrate her dedication to seamlessly uniting intuitive expression with remarkable technical skill.
Celebrated for her affinity with 19th and 20th-century composers, Blandine’s repertoire spans Bach to modern works, with a particular connection to Liszt, Scriabin, Brahms and Rachmaninov. Her acclaimed recording, Momentum (Dux, 2018), showcases Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Brahms’s intimate late works, and Scriabin’s Ninth Sonata. Blandine’s performances emphasize emotional depth, refined colour, and the orchestral scope of the piano, capturing audiences in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Cadogan Hall and major concert halls across Europe.
Frist Prize of numerous international competitions, including Erik Satie International Music Competition, IMKA and The Muse, Blandine continues to expand her artistic horizons through chamber music projects and collaborations with contemporary composers.
