Margee is the musical project of Alexandre Gimard, a producer from the
South of France, based in Grimaud. His music has made its way across
stages around the globe — from the deserts of Afrikaburn to the jungle of
Wonderfruit, with stops along the beach at WeCanDance, The Monastery
Festival, Les Plages Électro, Cartel del Chipo Festival, and more. Recently,
he’s also been spotted behind the decks at clubs and events like Corsica
Studios (London), Chapiteau (Marseille), Reconnexion Festival
(Ramatuelle), Jupiter Disco (Brooklyn), Canal 54 (Geneva), Badaboum
(Paris), Vino Disco (Montreal), and Lost in Château Double… In short, he
likes to take his records and USBs on the road.
Margee has also been producing music for about a decade, and his tracks
are slowly but surely finding their way into crates and playlists alike. He
released a vinyl on Other Goodness (London), supported by artists like
Bonobo, and another one is on its way, set to drop before summer 2025 via
ChompChomp! (New York). He
’
s also crafted a sun-soaked, Balearic-
leaning EP built around a song called Mathilda, released on Balearique
Ensemble. On the side, he’s developing a collaborative project, ¡Limbo!, with
Probably Sean, born out of a shared summer residency at Afterbeach in
2024. You’ll also find his productions on labels like Music for Dreams, and
soon on Clap Trap and Epicure Records, to name a few.
These days, his sets drift between slow-burning grooves and full-blown
dancefloor heat, depending on the vibe — and his mood. Vinyl or USB?
Doesn’t matter, as long as there’s groove, floating pads, and rhythms that get
heads nodding. Always on the lookout for that sweet spot between
surprising discoveries and timeless classics, he weaves sets that dodge
monotony and celebrate joy.
