A singular artist, driven by a gentle strangeness, Gisèle Pape's career path crossed classical organ training, film studies at the Ecole Louis Lumière and working with light.
Her first album, Caillou, took us into nocturnal landscapes populated by fragile bodies and walkers in search of the lost immensity of the plains.
Gisèle Pape is back with a second album, Disquette, due for release in January 2025. A pop album with a strong electronic influence, committed and optimistic, Disquette invites us to dance to new possible futures.
Now a seasoned producer, Gisèle Pape plays with synths, rhythms and voices to question how we can build a society together in a sunny, heady record that links the intimate with the political, the better to redraw the contours of the word ‘we’.
Its first single, VIVRE, will be released on 9 October 2024.
