Burn the Tower! Smash the Power!
Moratory was formed in Saint-Petersburg (Russia) in winter 2011, influenced by swedish d-beat and american thrash metal, with death/black metal and crust references. Their first musical steps were made at local venues and nearest illegal festivals. Their political/social lyrics and uncompromising music found resonance in Russian underground scene. After releasing debut album “Confrontation” in 2017 the band started to spread their sound among the European metalpunk community. During the 2018-2019 Moratory released single “The More I See” and a split with SpeedKobra, after which they went on Russian and European tours. In the spring of 2021, Moratory released their 2nd album “The Old Tower Burns”, leaning more into metal music complexity, while keeping their punk attitude.
February 2022. Russia started a full-scale war with Ukraine. In the spring of 2022 band recorded anti-war EP "F.P.F.W." (Fuck Politics! Fuck War!). In autumn they went on tour in Georgia, released this EP and left the Russia for an indefinite period...
October 2023, Moratory were reunited in Israel with new local drummer and went on tour. But halfway through the tour a new Israeli-Palestinian war broke out and the last gigs were canceled. Finding themselves under daily shelling, they still managed to record a new live album which will be released in 2024!
