Born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Atlanta, Georgia King Johnny was exposed to hip-hop at a very young age. Listening to artists such as Nicki Minaj, Trina, Lil Wayne, Drake, J. Cole, Kevin Gates and many more. He began to have an ear for hip-hop and a love for rap. In fact, he loved rap so much he started making music himself.
At the age of sixteen, he released his very first single I Am Who I Am in July of 2019. This was the start of his music career. A few months later he released another single titled KJ's Warning which certainly grabbed people’s attention. The following year he released his very first project titled Xplicitly K.J., with only five songs and a running time of sixteen minutes it is the perfect EP for listeners who have yet to hear of King Johnny. Just five short months later he released another project that would have fans waiting nearly two years till another release titled K.I.N.G., Pt. 1: No Self Control, a trilogy project. For those who don’t know K.I.N.G. is an acronym for Kid In Need of Guidance.
In March of 2022 King Johnny released Watch This which left fans wondering what was to come next from the young artist. In September of 2023 he released Resurrection, a song that signifies a rebirth for King Johnny. In October of 2023 he announced the long awaited sequel, “K.I.N.G., Pt. 2: Rude Awakening” which is set to release on all streaming platforms on November 3rd.
