Jean-Marie Ragald is a French singer, songwriter, and musician who was born in 1976 in Martinique. He began his musical career as a bass player with the group Original before forming the band Natural with childhood friends. Between 1995 and 1997, Ragald performed with the ensemble Doussin and later joined the group Ozon+, where he continued to play bass. In 1996, he decided to transition to vocals and began authoring his own compositions. He co-founded the zouk quatour Needs, which released the album For Love (1999) under the name 4 Love before the members disbanded. Ragald achieved significant commercial success in Martinique with the release of the single “Prisca” (2001). He subsequently released his debut solo album, Forever, (2002), followed by the albums Les Larmes De Mon Ame (2005) and T'écrire Un Roman (2007). His recording career includes the albums Tant Qu'il Y A De La Vie (2010), which featured a duet with Meddhy Custos, and Juste Un Homme (2013). Ragald also released the compilation Collector (2009) and the retrospective Only You Best Of 2000-2015 (2015). Notable collaborations include the duet “Fo'w di mwen” with Snake Tong and the track “Envi ba'w” with Christiane Valejo. In 2014, Ragald participated in the commemorative track “On n'oublie pas” alongside artists including Alpha Blondy and Tanya Saint-Val.
