Valentina Rico is a 22-year-old Singer/Songwriter from Medellin, Colombia. At the age of 15 she moved to the United States to pursue her music and participated in various musical events. In 2013, Valentina was accepted to the prestigious Grammy Camp in New York city where only 36 people from across the US are accepted each year. After graduating from Fort Lauderdale High School, she moved to Nashville, TN to study Music Business at the well know SAE Institute of Technology, graduating with honors as the class’ Salutatorian. That same year, in March 2017, Valentina was invited to perform at the Locales Festival in Miami Florida sharing the stage with artists like Fat Joe, Alexis y Fido, DJs Irie, Lolo, Locos por Juana and Spam Allstars.
In January 2018, alongside Colombian Urban group Piso 21, Valentina released a duet of “Dejala Que Vuelva” which has raked over 3.2 million views on YouTube. This was a cover of the original track which became an instant success across Latin America, topping multiple Spotify charts in the region and became certified Gold in Colombia just merely two weeks after its release.
With a strong background of outstanding musical education in countless genres, Valentina is a one of a kind artist who has developed a very unique sound, mixing her Latino & American roots. Her music reflects meaningful lyrics and youthful beats in the ever-changing genre that is pop, urban and reggaeton.
Valentina’s new LP titled CALMA was a major collaboration with renowned music producer & composer Julio Reyes Copelo who executive produced the project. Copelo who hold 6 grammy and Latin Grammy awards and has had over 30 nominations including Producer of the year in 2010 and 2013. He has worked with the likes of Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz, Jennifer Lopez, Kanny García, Nelly Furtado, Taylor Dayne, Laura Pausini, Diego Torres, Fonseca, Pablo Alborán, Antonio Carmona, Paulina Rubio, Thalía, Alejandro Fernández, Mickael Carreira, Andrés Cepeda, Patricia Manterola, Malú, Jerry Rivera, Florent Pagny, Il Divo, Estéfano, Cristian Castro, Chayanne, Ana Cristina, Alexandre Pires, Río Roma, Reamonn, Duina del Mar, Mariana Vega, Paula Arenas, Juan Pablo Vega, Chiquis Rivera, BOGART y Brika; just to name a few.
Other collaborators on the project are Venezuelan musician and producer Manuel Lara, Navi and new up-and-comer producer Omar Olvera.
