The Blood Arm was formed in Los Angeles, California in 2002 by vocalist Nathaniel Fregoso, guitarist Zebastian Carlisle, keyboardist and co‑vocalist Dyan Valdés, drummer Zachary Amos and an unspecified bassist. The group first gained attention with the self‑released EP Four Song Demo in 2004 and the debut album Bomb Romantics in 2005, which sold out quickly and received positive overseas reviews. In 2005 the single "Do I Have Your Attention?" on Loog Records entered UK radio rotation, followed by the single "Say Yes" that charted in the UK top fifty. The Blood Arm signed to City Rockers/Because and issued the album Lie Lover Lie in 2006, earning favorable scores from The Guardian, NME and Artrocker; the single "Suspicious Character" became an indie disco hit. After the 2010 EP All My Love Songs and the 2011 album Turn and Face Me, the band relocated to Berlin, Germany, where they recorded Infinite Nights in 2013 on RIP Ben Lee Records, a more introspective effort that received praise from Q Magazine. In 2014 drummer Sebastian Völkers and bassist Ferdinand Kumpfmüller joined, and the band released Kick 'Em in the Sunglasses in 2016 on Duchess Box Records. Their music appeared in television series such as Gossip Girl and The OC, the film Cloverfield, and the video game series MLB: The Show, establishing the Blood Arm as a notable presence in contemporary rock.
