The Five Faces are one of the original late 70s Mod Revival bands, originating from Genova, Italy. Active in their early incarnation from 1980 to 1984, reformed in early 2014
They are: Gianni Berti – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar / Raffaele Sanna – Lead Guitar, Vocals / Giorgio Lanteri – Bass Guitar / Pietro Canepa - Drums
The current line up recorded two cds (“On The Run”, 2015 and “SX225”, 2017) and one dvd (“Live in London”, 2016) and a handful of singles with various other labels, such as their cover of the original Genoa FC 1893 anthem (“Inno del Genoa”, 2018) and the digital EP “Tempi Modesti” and vinyl 7” “Mare (Sotto Questo Sole)” with Toast Records, known to the masses for launching the careers of Italian artists such as Righeira, Afterhours, Statuto and many others.
Their latest release, out in December 2020, is the full lenght album “Meali”, containing ten songs sung in Italian.
Their sound is an original mix of many different genres, such as power pop, punk, mod revival, ska, reggae, all blended with a robust dose of the typically Italian taste for nice melodies, singalong choruses, head nodding and feet stomping beats.
Usually gigging both through the whole Italian peninsula and Europe (two UK tours in 2016 and 2017), as the live activity is in standby due to the Covid-19 situation, they are already working of their next full lenght album, which should be out some time in 2022. A B-sides and rarities compilation will be out in 2021, though.
