Imca Marina was born on May 10, 1941 in Hoogezand in the Netherlands. She is a Dutch pop singer who achieved great popularity, particularly in the 1970s. Her real name is Imca Rijneveld. She grew up in a musical environment and began singing at an early age. From the end of the 1960s, Imca Marina worked professionally in pop music. Her breakthrough came in 1973 with the single "Viva España". The song reached number 1 in the Dutch charts and also became a great success in Germany, reaching number 4. The album Viva España was released in the same year. The single "Du hast den Sonnenschein verloren" followed in 1974 and reached the top 20 in Germany. Other well-known titles include "Ein Lied kann eine Brücke sein" (1975) and "Y Viva España" in various language versions. In the following years, Imca Marina regularly released albums and singles in the German-language Schlager genre. Well-known longplayers include Imca Marina (1974) and Solang die Sonne scheint (1975). The repertoire includes classic Schlager and popular pop. In addition to music, she also works as a television presenter and politician in the Netherlands.
