Rahul Deshpande is an Indian classical singer and actor born on October 10, 1979, in Pune. The grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande, he received training from teachers including Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare, Madhusudhan Patwardhan, Ushatai Chipalkatti, and Mukul Shivputra. His repertoire includes genres such as khayal, dhruvpad, thumri, and bhajan. Deshpande arranges the annual music festival Vasantotsav. He performed in stage productions including Katyar Kaljat Ghusali and Sangeet Manapman. Deshpande served as a judge for the television program Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Little Champs. He received the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for the 2022 film Me Vasantrao, in which he also performed the lead role. His discography included the songs “Kaivalyagaan” and “Khal Khal Goda”. He received Maharashtra State Film Awards for best actor, music direction, and playback singing.
