Sylvan is a German progressive rock band from Hamburg, formed in 1991 as Chamäleon by Volker Söhl, Kay Söhl, Matthias Harder, and Marko Heisig. In 1995, they renamed themselves Sylvan and added lead vocalist Marco Glühmann. Their debut album Deliverance was released in 1998, followed by Encounters in 2000. The band gained attention with Artificial Paradise (2002), which explored societal themes, and X-Rayed (2004), delving into human psychology. In 2006, they released the concept album Posthumous Silence. Sylvan released further albums like Presets (2007), Force of Gravity (2009), Sceneries (2012), Home (2015), and One to Zero (2021), as well as the live DVD Posthumous Silence - The Show (2008).
