Different Moon is the project of North Carolina (USA) songwriter/producer Jim Piper. Different Moon was founded in 2015 to honor the memory of Mike Smith - Piper’s longtime friend from high school and fellow keyboardist/songwriting partner, who passed away at the early age of 37. The 2015 debut EP included five previously unreleased songs co-written by Piper/Smith.

Encouraged by interest from new fans and driven by a passion for music, Piper decided to continue writing and producing new songs as Different Moon. Piper has released three EP’s, eighteen singles, and received over thirty international songwriting nominations. The music of Different Moon continues to evolve, but its foundation is a melodically crafted blend of alternative pop/rock.
