Connie Diiamond’s chameleon-like cadences and flows are too versatile to be boxed into a definitive category. While she will always represent the Bronx, she wants her skillset to shatter any music molds that may come to mind when thinking about the historic borough. “I just want people to view me as an overall creator—not just a phenomenal female rapper,” she says. “I want to just be a phenomenal artist overall.” And with another new EP ready for the top of the year, Connie Diiamond is prepared to catapult from underdog to rap mainstay while staying true to her humble roots. Her relatability, she says, is the reason she’s striving in the rap game and doesn’t want to come across like she’s above anyone.
