Zora Young, born on January 21, 1948, in West Point, Mississippi, was an African-American blues singer. She began her career in the 1970s under the mentorship of Sunnyland Slim and quickly became a prominent figure in Chicago's blues scene. Young participated in the show "Heart of the Blues" and joined the tour Blues with the Girls from 1981 to 1982, performing across Europe. In the late 1990s, she signed with Delmark Records and released multiple albums. Notable collaborations include The French Connection (2009), which topped blues charts worldwide and earned a nomination for the US Blues Awards 2010. This album was also offered to President Barack Obama and played in Chicago's airport. She received numerous accolades, including the Grand Prix du blues from the Hot Club de France in 2010.
