Endstille, a German metal band, was formed in 2000 in Kiel. Early members included L. Wachtfels on guitar, Mayhemic Destructor on drums, Iblis on vocals, and Cruor on bass. Endstille released their debut album Frühlingserwachen in 2003, followed by Operation Wintersturm in 2004 and Dominanz in 2005. Their 2006 release Navigator continued the band’s development within the German black-metal scene. The band later issued Infektion 1813 in 2011. Endstille’s music is characterized by dissonant chords and extreme distortion typical of black metal and has often been compared to acts such as Marduk. Despite controversies surrounding their album artwork and lyrical themes, the band consistently maintained that they are unpolitical.
