Thapelo Monyela, popularly known as TpZee, is a DJ, events organizer, composer and music producer. He was raised by a single mother, Miss Julia Monyela.
He became a resident music producer for Cloud9ne artists, most notably Assessa and Afriikan Papi after being introduced to Cloud9ne production team by Taffy Da Don, a regular collaborator. TpZee's current musical inspiration comes from fellow industry producer Kabza De Small.
Eventually he paired with Q-Mark to become a DJ duo and production team under Cloud9ne Entertaiment, co- porducing a successful single "Paris" with Afriikan Papi, that quickly rose the duo to South African mainstream success.
Their debut single "Paris" has been streamed over 18 million times and the official music video has organically reached over 19.7 million views. According to Radiomonitor, the single peaked at number 1 in the top twenty most played songs in the country across all radio stations. The official music video was playlisted on Channel O, MTV Base and Trace and has been on high rotation, charting to the top spot categories on all South African TV station program for over five months, a precedent no Amapiano song had set.
Following up on the incredible success of their single “Paris” by Q-Mark & TpZee with Afriikan Papi, they decided to perform and create new music together as a trio, releasing
“Nguwe” as a pre curser to their EP titled “Isvunguvungu Season 1”
“Nguwe” received warm response and heavy rotation on KZN radio stations. The EP is licensed and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment.
TpZee has also ventured into solo projects. He released "Langa Elihle" which features King JS. TpZee was also featured on DJ Flair SA's debut single 'Come To Me' which past collaborator, DollyCharmaine. 'Come To Me' Topped Channel O charts.
